Summary
A brown leather Gladstone bag, rigid and rectangular in section, and made of thick, dark brown hide, with four circular iron studs to use as feet. The two top pieces fold over the case to form a central spine toughened with metal bar inserts, onto which are mounted the handle, fixed with brass plates, a brass lockplate and lock, and two brass callipers that bear on brass plates at one side of the central spine to keep the bag closed when not locked.
