Summary

A Blackburn's Yarn Balance made by John Nesbitt and Co. Ltd. inside a maroon box with blue velvet lining, including instructions. Used to record the counts of yarn. The yarn is attached by a hook at one end of the balance and a small weight is attached to the other end. Number of threads that balance the beam give the count. Includes three templates for cutting the length of yarn.
