Summary
Marble bust of an unknown male sitter by George Clarke (1796-1842). The sitter is facing to his left, drapery around his shoulders. He is clean-shaven, his hair short but full, with no sideburns. His eyeballs are left blank. Inscribed on the proper left side of the bust 'G. CLARKE/SCULPTOR'. On a square marble socle. The bust is displayed on a yellow scagliola column with marble base.
