Summary
Piano, by John Broadwood and Son, London, 1805. A grand piano inscribed on the fascia board 1805 / John Broadwood and Son / Makers to His Majesty & the Princesses / Great Pulteney Street, Golden Square / London. The case veneered with mahogany and resting on its original stand. A reproduction(?) fitted music desk to the interior and furnished with one lid prop-stick, together with its original detachable ‘fallboard’. Fitted with the English grand action, a keyboard compass of FF – c4 and two pedals, the right for the dampers and the left for una corda / due corde.
Provenance
Piano, John Broadwood and Son, 1805. First sold from Thebaldo Monzani's music shop in Old Bond Street to Philip Wyckam of Thame Park; by descent until 1900; sold to Robert Green; by descent to his daughter, Ms Corbett-Dyer, who bequeathed it to the National Trust in 1954. Displayed at Hughenden and then Fenton House since 1959.

the wrestplank bears the number 3251; signed over the keys "1805 JOHN BROADWOOD AND SON MAKERS TO HIS MAJESTY AND THE PRINCESSES PULTENEY STREET, GOLDEN SQUARE, LONDON"
