Summary
Harp-lute by Ward of Liverpool. The top of the body painted with gold scrollwork with griffins and urns, the rose in the form of a cross within a sunburst, surrounded by painted gold roses and surmounted by a scroll saying 'Ward of Liverpool'. The neck and single column rise from either side of the soundbox and support a harp-shaped peg-board.

Acquired after the destruction of Old Devonshire House in 1941.
