Summary

A stringed instrument (possibly a cithern) with no neck - only the pear-shaped body left; the base of neck where it joins on to soundboard is cabriole-shaped on one side. The rose roughly carved. Small feet at base of soundboard.

Provenance

Acquired after the destruction of Old Devonshire House in 1941.
