Summary
Colours of the 3rd Battalion of the 14th Bucks Regiment of Foot, carried at Waterloo. Union Jack in top left corner, emblem within floral circlet at centre, and names Corunna, Bhurtpore, Java and Waterloo on 4 sides. All on cream silk. Mounted on pole with leaf-shaped, pierced brass point, red cord and heavy tassels. Brass plaque: 'Colours of the 3rd Battalion of the 14th or Buckinghamshire Regt of foot Commanded by General Sir Harry Calvert Bart. C.C.B. & G.C.H. Disbanded - 1816. These colours were carried at Waterloo.'
Provenance
Accepted by HM Government in lieu of inheritance tax and allocated to the National Trust for display at Claydon House, 2005.
