Summary
A nineteenth century tufted pile carpet in Savonnerie tradition, the two tone crimson foliate field with acentral flower filled medallion, and an all over design of interlaced strapwork in old gold with rosettes at the intersections, within elaborate matching spandrels and borders. Purchased at the Great Exhibition 1851.
