Summary
[Saved] 19th century Boulle clock in Louis XV style by William Payne & Co of 163 New Bond Street, London. The cartouche shaped case inlaid with stained tortoiseshell and mother-of-pearl foliate motifs, with ormolu shell, rocaille floral mounts and putto surmount, the reverse in rosewood.
Provenance
Loaned to the National Trust by Lady Iveagh and lent with her consent by the National Trust to Lord Onslow in 1962 for a period of time. Purchased in 1991 with the aid of a grant from the V&A Museum Purchase Grant Fund for £1250.
