Summary
[Destroyed in the fire of 2015] Italian gopher wood coffer , the front with blind-fret panels and framing, the interior of the lid showing traces of the original pen-and-ink decoration; blackened steel mounts original. Of a type referred to in inventories as a 'cypress chest', made probably in Venice.
