Summary
A high-quality reconstruction of an Anglo Saxon leather lyre bag. Traces of hair attached to the lyre from the Sutton Hoo ship burial showed it had been stored in a beaver-skin bag.
Provenance
Purchased by the National Trust for the opening of the Exhibition Hall in 2002.
