Provenance
Nineteenth century porcelain, Chamberlain’s of Worcester. Part of a tea and coffee set commissioned in the 1820s by Henry Whitmore-Jones, possibly as a wedding present to Walter Whitmore and Dorothy Clutton for their wedding in 1821 or to thank them for making him their heir. These may be part of the ‘25 pieces china dessert service, white, scarlet and gold’ listed within the 1862 inventory. Removed from the Chastleton collection by the historic family prior to the acquisition of the property by the National Trust in 1991. Remained within the historic family until purchased by the National Trust for Chastleton in December 2024.
