Summary
Vegetable steamer. One of a pair of tinplate vegetable steamers. A hinge along the base enables the halves of the steamer to open at 90 degrees to each other, hinges at either side of the top where the handle meets the steamer allowing this, each half of the base sloping towards the hinge. The hinge along the base is kept closed by a removable key. The base and lower half of the steamer have holes for drainage. A badge is welded onto the outside that reads 'SOLE MANUFACTURERS No14855 F.C.HOLMES PATENT VEGETABLE BOILER JONES BROTHERS AND Co WOLVERHAMPTON'. The steamer is tarnished, there is some rusting, one of the top hinges is broken and the handle twisted.
