Summary
Pedestal desk. A 19th century 'boulle' revival pedestal desk with four drawers on each side and a centre drawer, on black castors. The top has a leather centre bordered with gold tooling, and an ebonised border with wide border of 'boulle' decoration, finished with brass tongue and tassel border. The drawer fronts are decorated with similar 'boulle' and brass escutcheons. The back and sides are of ebonised wood, the end panels decorated with a classical figure in ormolu, one with spear and one with garland, with a Tudor rose in each spandrel in ormolu. The curved corners have a brass lozenge in a double edged gilt panel, above a brass urn with garland, a 'boulle' panel with scooped top, and another brass urn with garland pediment.
