Summary
Cabinet. An ornate, South German, marquetry cabinet, made of satinwood, oak, laburnum, ebony and various other woods, of eight drawers and eight cupboards, decorated with a variety of geometric and floral designs. It is mounted on a cupboard base with two doors decorated with marquetry figures in ovals. Dating from the third quarter of the 16th century, it was probably altered in the 1830s, probably by Thomas Hopper.
