Summary
A mid-Victorian oak washstand, part of a four-part bedroom suite, (NT14136 - Dressing Table, NT14139 - Bedside Cabinet, NT14147 - Washstand, and NT14156 - Wardrobe), attributed to Collier & Plucknett, circa 1880. The cushion-moulded cornice above six decorated ceramic tiles depicting flowers between chamfered uprights surmounted by tapering finials, with shaped downswept sides, above a nero antico moulded marble top above an arched kneehole flanked by a drawer above a panelled door carved with roundels above reeded panels, each door enclosing a shelf, between chamfered uprights, above a reeded apron, on square legs and shaped angle brackets, with ceramic castors, the locks stamped, 2 LEVER H.
