Summary
Coal box. Ebonised wood with sloping doors with two pressed metal relief panels depicting a flamingo and a heron. Turned wood handle on brass supports above, which when laid flat opens the doors. Inner metal liner. Brass strap handle at back.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969).
