Summary
Large floral carpet, European. The original carpet was made up of 34 colours in a 27” wide, 36” pattern repeat, floral trellis design; a rare surviving example of an english printed tapestry carpet. David Luckham, from Living Looms project, believes the carpet dated from the 1840’s.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
