Summary
Marble, Sir Robert Peel, 2nd Bt MP (1788-1850) by Angelo Bienaimé (Carrara fl.1829-1870), c. 1840. A bust of Sir Robert Peel in classical drapery, turned to proper left, by the Italian sculptor Angelo Bienaimé. Bienaimé was a pupil of Bertel Thorvaldsen in Rome and came to London in circa 1828, working and exhibiting in Britain until about 1851. His brother was the sculptor Francesco Bienaimé.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
