Summary
Silver condiment stand. English, dated 1810. Hallmarked 'lion rampant, shield, O, George's head, TH'. London 1809. Silver rounded rectangular condiment stand with space for 8 bottles - now 7 only. Engraved with flowering scrolls, acorns and leaves, on one side a quartered armorial (chevrons, roses, Maltese Cross with 4 stars) and on the other side the dated inscription 'Thomas S. Buckle Donavit Elisha de Hague Pignus Amicitie 1810'. The ?Hervey crest of leopard and coronet engraved on the carrying handle.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
