Summary
A print,a hand-coloured aquatint, Windsor and Eton, Berkshire (after Joseph Farington) by Joseph Constantine Stadler (b.Germany - fl. London 1780-1812). A view over countryside with Windsor and Eton in distance, trees and a courting couple in the foreground. It is glazed with a black C20 frame. A Boy dell print. It has no plate mark apparent - it is either hidden by the frame or this is a lithograph of the Boydell print. J. Farington ... del't. J.C. Stadler sculpt. Published June 1 179? by Boydell Shakspeare, Windsor and Eaton Gallery Pall Mall and No.90 Cheapside. Signed 'J. Far...' lower right.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969).
