Envelope containing a handwritten note '18 pictures of flowers and birds' by James Paine who ordered the wallpaper via East India Company in 1750. Found behind the wallpaper in the Chinese Bedroom. Together with a black and white photograph of the portrait of James Paine (1717-1789) and his son James Paine (1745-1829) after Sir Joshua Reynolds. With typewritten biography.
