Summary
Planchette: an upmarket ouija board. A burgundy card box, marked 'Planchette', stamped 'AJ Galpin and Co, Toy Warehouse, Market Place, Norwich'. A heart-shaped wooden board with two attached pentagraph wheels and a brass fitting over the hole for fitting a pencil. A booklet containing an article on Planchette from the periodical 'Once a Week'. A pencil marked 'Jaques and Son, London', 'What Does Planchette Say?'.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969).
