Summary
Hand-held fire-screen. One of a pair. Embossed and painted beige card with a border design incorporating Prince-of-Wales three feathers and shell motifs, set on a turned giltwood handle. Shaped centre panel with monochrome and colour wash classical scene of arch and tower in ruins by lake with boats. Paper backing with design of gilt, red and white tendrils.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
