Summary
A black metal box with two lids hinged in the centre and covering two compartments. A metal handle. Marked 'Shoe Cleaning Box, British Made'. One side is marked 'Black' containing three brushes, a tin of Kiwi black shoe polish, a tin of Reckitt's 'Globe' metal polish for buttons and a buffing pad. The other side is marked 'Brown' containing three brushes, two suede brushes marked 'Kent Tom Thumb', two buffing pads and two tins of Kiwi light tan shoe polish.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969).
