Summary
A copper hotplate or plate warmer with two paraffin burners below. The warmer of rectangular shape and standing on six squashed ball feet (one is loose) with arched openings to each side and one to each end. A plate over with three circular openings in a line centrally from end to end. A flat-topped cover fitted over the stand. A copper tray with metal handles and in three sections. Extends to reveal two recesses above the burners.Burners with a cauldron reservoir and conical burner and wick holder which screws into the top of the reservoir; copper burner covers slightly conical in form.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969).
