Summary
Bronze sculpture, Five Bacchic Putti play with a Goat (after Clodion), Unknown. 19th century. Group of five fauns playing with a goat. Signed by Deniere and Clodion. The first signature is that of the bronze-founder, but the second signature is not authentic. This is a 19th-century pastiche of a favourite 18th-century subject.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer ( 1906-1969).
