Summary
A travelling alarm clock. A small square brass clock with roman numerals, mounted horizontally. 30-hour table clock with alarm, by Joseph Ramponus, Papie, c.1850. Single train, 4 pillar movement, with verge escapement and alarm on bell. Brass dial with engraved spandrels. Brass chapter ring with roman numerals. Engraved dial centre with alarm disc in centre. Single steel hour hand. Plain brass case on 4 turned brass feet, with alarm bell under.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
