Summary
8 day French striking mantel clock in ormolu and cloisonne style enamelled case, c.1910. 2 train, 4 pillar movement with level platform escapement and rack striking on gong. Backplate stamped 'E.M. and Co', and 'French Make'. Silvered concave chapter ring with arabic numerals. Dial signed 'Page, Keen and Page, Paris'. Blued steel hands. Ormolu case with cloisonne-style enamelled panels painted in turquoise, blue, pink, green, red and gold on 4 squashed-ball ormolu feet. Housing in the form of two pilasters with capitols surmounted by an arched pediment with foliage.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
