Summary
One of a pair of gilt beech upholstered open armchairs, attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, circa 1830 Upholstered in a cerise silk damask with pink braid edging. With a padded back and seat, the arms with elbow pads and leaf carved terminals held by turned fluted supports and raised on turned lappet carved legs
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
