An ebony, brass inlaid and ormolu mounted 'Boulle' writing table or bureau plat, French, circa 1880 The leather inset rectangular top with ormolu mounted edge and inlaid with cut brass panels above five drawers to the shaped frieze with further brass inlay, on cabriole legs headed by satyr cast masks and terminating on scroll sabots, in poor condition, some losses

Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
