Summary
A gilt beech and specimen marble center table, English or Italian, early 19th century The square top inlaid as a chess board with various specimen marbles including Giallo, Bardiglio, Breccia and interspaced with Carrara marble within a geometric patterned border with star inlaidcorners. The table profusely carved with scrolls and floral decoration to the cabriole legs which are tied by an X stretcher
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
