Summary
Print, coloured engraving, Antoine Lutz, a French Royalist Soldier with Napoleon's Standard (after Ramsay Richard Reinagle) by Edward Harding (1755-1840). A French Royalist with Napoleon's standard. Drawn by R. Reinagle, engraved and published by E Harding 1803. Black frame with gilt edge, mounted and glazed. Inscription on reverse of picture 'Sir Wadham Wyndham, Oct 1668, of Norrington, Alvedistan, Wilts. Judge of the King's Bench under Charles II. Stood by his post during the Great Plague & Great Fire. Was sent to the Tower by Oliver Cromwell. 9th son of Sir John Wyndham of Orchard Wyndham, Somerset, Felbrigg Hall and Wymondham Norfolk'.
Provenance
Part of the Windham Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1969 by Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer (1906-1969)
