Summary
Gilt bronze sculpture, Horse restrained by a Groom, one of 'The Marly Horses' (after Guillaume Coustou I) by Jean-Jacques Feuchère (Paris 1807 - Paris 1852). One of a pair of French gilt bronze groups of the chevaux de Marly, partly draped attendants holding prancing horses with rockwork supports and bases; the tablets attached to the bases inscribed, 'Feuchère à Paris'. (NT/UPP/M/11b is other in pair).
