Summary
Cream silk satin overdress, part of wedding dress, made from six pieces of fabric. Low-waisted, garconne style. Bodice made from two rectangles seamed at sides, with curved neckline at front. Four skirt panels stitched to waist edged by hand with large tacking stitches. Waist finishes with pearl beads individually stitched around hem of bodice. An abstract floral design is also applied to CF skirt panel in the same pearl beads. Skirt panels are lined with a fine white jap silk. Set in sleeves of white lace (machine embroidered net) patterned with a rose motif. Sleeves are full length finished with a picot scalloped edge at wrist. All hand-stitched.
