Summary

Dress apron, black cotton/silk sateen. made from one rectangular piece of fabric. Edged with 'lace' made from soutache braid (as gimp thread), worsted and fine brown thread. Top edge of rectangle loosely pleated onto black satin waistband. Black satin ribbon stitched to waistband as ties. Hand embroidered at lower edge, floral motifs in mercerised cotton thread worked in satin stitch and straight stitches.
