Summary
Bed or dressing jacket white jap silk lined with lightweight cream woollen cloth. Constructed from six main pieces. High round neckline, back and fronts pleated to flare out from neck to hem to create full loose-fitting shape. Sleeves gathered into shoulder to create fullness, flaring out above wrist, gathered into deep cuff. Cuff trimmed with deep flounce of tamboured cotton net oversewn at join in cream thread. Collar cut to a square pattern, made up of silk and tamboured net insertion, trimmed with flounce as cuffs; one corner falls in a point at centre back, opposite corner is split to drape at front. Fastens at centre front with three shell buttons, large metal hook and worked loop secure neckline.
