Summary
Bright pink wool winter coat, probably c.1968. Made from eight main pieces, sleeves cut in one with left and right bodice panels. Skirts fall straight at front, gathered at centre back central panel. The fabric is a heavy twilled wool. Coat is constructed with a broad waistband, top stitched by machine. Sleeves have turned-back cuffs. Large turn down collar; collar and edges of coat all top stitched in pink thread by machine. Fastens at centre front with four pink plastic buttons (the second is detatched and pinned to lining). Lined throughout with pink silk. A concealed side pocket at each hip. Label; 'Hardy Amies, 14 Savile Row, London, W1, Made in England'. Mainly machine sewn but lining hand stitched to coat.
