Summary
Girl's or young lady's petticoat (underdress). Stout white cotton. Boat neck, short sleeves both trimmed with a narrow band of eyelet embroidery. Full skirt finely gathered onto darted pointed front bodice. Eight deep tucks (and one let down) around bottom of skirt, hem trimmed with a deep band of eyelet embroidery. Four linen buttons at back some corded seams, all hand stitched. Girl or young lady's 'Jane Watts'. 1840 - 1850 (circa)
