Summary
Afternoon dress of blade silk rep; small turn down collar, bodice shaped by darts, centre back zip, long straight sleeves; low waistline, skirt sideways extended at waist to form rectangle, corners of which fasten to gether at centre back to give swathed sheath effect. Made by couturier Maggy Rouff, 136 Avenue des Champs-Elysees, Paris. 1947 (circa)
Provenance
donation came via Mrs H.Castle, 9a Wellswood Park, Torquay. Dress was worn by the donorfor her daughters wedding in 1947. Alterations - Originally lilac-pink, but dyed black in the late 1940s for greater wear, back darts let out.
