Summary
Evening dress or tailcoat of black wool facecloth; standing collar, cuffs and false pocket flaps faced with blue-black velvet, gold braid and spangles. Gilt buttons with arms (eight to fasten fronts, eight to decorate back); lining of crimson twill stiffened with crimped and knotted grid. 1830 - 1870 (circa)
