Alterations; sleevebands possibly added a year or two after original date of dress? Waistband altered- front waist has two bands, now sewn together by machine zig-zag and bodice side seams have been machine sewn; possibly front bodice was originally open flap for nursing? back waistband has evidence of drawstrings and buttonhole to right side. Posssibly machine sewn for theatrical use (traces of make up around neck) 1836 (circa)
