Mop cap, muslin lined with satin, front edge stiffened by covered wire in inverted horseshoe shape, and decorated with three box-pleated self frills and ruched band overlying black ribbon, with deep pink ribbon over (later addition); drawstring to neck. Early 19th century type probably maid's dress cap?. 1800 - 1890 (circa)
