Summary
Wedding dress skirt - Part of a two piece wedding dress of cream ribbed silk with accessories. Skirt; trained skirt with broad diagonal pleats to front overcentral vertically-pleated triangular panel; double frill to hem of grouped knife-edge pleating, underfrill of pleated book-muslin and machine lace. Front lined in ribbed silk, back lined book muslin; bustle pad to back, machine sewn.
Provenance
Worn by Marion Gibbon for wedding to William Beeman (doner's great uncle) in Philadelphia, with the accessories. Gloves are missing - had one finger slit for ring. Worn subsequently by donor for own wedding in 1948.
