Summary
Ball dress - White silk with net peplum overdress. Bodice with wide shallow neck edged lace threaded with ribbon, piped seams, net gathered at centre waist, trimmed rows narrow mid-blue velvet ribbon and hollow pearl beads, shoulders trimmed fabric daisy on blue velvet; laced back opening. Small puffed sleeves trimmed with bows of narrow blue velvet ribbon and pearl beads. Skirt pleated onto waist, with front pocket slit and attached ribbon-trimmed belt; peplum-style net overdress hangs in five deep points, edged ruched net, pearl beads and blue velvet bows; slightly trained hem trimmed with ruched net. Bodice boned and lined in white glazed cotton, skirt lined book muslin, pocket of glazed muslin, machine sewn. Large sash and bow removed, several fragments.
