Summary
Silk over skirt shot in red and blue, lined in cotton. This was originally made by hand with a pocket in the lining and lined in grey cotton. Alteration; it appears to have been re-made ie. the waist made larger, when black silk was added. Note; The fabric was fashionable from 1845, when shot silk appears on the market. The pleating is more typical of the 1860's. 1845 - 1860 (circa)
