Summary
Sarcophagus-shaped needlework box with panels of porcupine quills framed with ivory with black painted patterns. The carcase of aromatic wood (sandlewood?). The interior tray with three lidded compartments, two pincushions, double thimble rest, six open compartments (for cotton reels), fitted needlecase. Contents of needlework box as follows; . pair of embroidery scissors. Indian boxes generally had fitted compartments, but no tools. 1830 (circa)
