Summary
Needlework box - Mid to late 19th century tortoiseshell casket inlaid ivory with brass handles and feet. Double lid; inner lid with printed silk scene (poor condition). Interior lined with paper with vermicular design, tray with tan leather lidded compartments. Contents of needlework box as follows; One silver (Chester 1844?) and one silver-plated thimble, 4 bone thread winders, tortoiseshell tatting shuttle, tortoiseshell penknife, steel scissors, stiletto with seam flattener and bone-handled seam knife, 5 balls linen thread. 1830 - 1860
