Summary
A carved oak day-bed, circa 1880, in 13th century style, by Collier & Plucknett, after an illustration in E. E. Viollet-le-Duc’s Dictionnaire Raisonné du Mobilier Francais (Paris, 1858). Carved with quatrefoil panels showing the Gibbs's arms, with low pilasters surmounted by pine cone finials.This highly unusual carved oak day-bed has on the underside an embossed metal trade label reading; COLLIER & PLUCKNETT / CABINET MAKERS / AND / UPHOLSTERERS / WARWICK & LEAMINGTON.
