Summary
Cap; Shako of an officer in the infantry made from black beaver with a black leather top, trim and peak. The peak is lined with green leather and the inside lined with red silk and leather headband. There are stitch marks for the regimental insignia - see SNO 2163 for details. The back is deeper than the front 175 mm (6.825 in) to 130 mm (5.125 in). The top is 153 mm (6 in) diameter 26 mm (1 in) less than the bottom giving tilted effect. Rear drooping peak 26 mm (1 in) deep, the front 60 mm (2.425 in). There is a leather chin strap - broken and mostly missing. (uniform)
